GREENVILLE, S.C. - Incoming recruit Shane Rogan (Blythewood, S.C.) added to his impressive resume by winning the Class 4A individual title Tuesday at the Furman University Golf Club.

Rogan started the tournament off with a first-round 72, then shot 69 to move within two shots of No. 19 ranked junior and Clemson signee Stephen Behr Jr. In the final round, Rogan tied for the lowest round of the day with a 73 to capture the championship by two strokes over Behr.

He also helped his team, the Blythewood Bengals to a runner-up finish. For the tournament Rogan shot 72-69-73 for a two-under 214

"The conditions were everything (Tuesday)," said Rogan. "You had to be mentally tough out there. It was really windy and the rain was awful. But it was a lot of fun. It was a great day."

College of Charleston Head Coach Mark McEntire said he was very proud of Rogan.

"I'm excited and glad I was able to be there to watch Shane achieve this accomplishment," he said. "We have one of the best players in the state of South Carolina coming to join us next fall. It is important to bring in players that have the championship experience and have had the success that Shane has had. I feel like we have a solid recruiting class and we are headed in the right direction for the program."
