CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston Men's Golf Head Coach Mark McEntire has announced the addition of Neil Gowan, who will join the team this fall.
Most recently Gowan, a native of London, England, finished eighth at nationals at Odessa Links and was awarded second team All-American honors. Gowan was voted Most Valuable Player at Midland and was named the team captain of his squad.
"I am looking forward to having Neil join our team," McEntire said. "He brings more experience and is a very accomplished player."
Earlier in the year Gowan earned medalist honors at the Region Preview Tournament at Diamond Black Golf Club. He also earned a spot on the Ping All-Region Team.
Gowan graduated the two-year college with a 3.51 GPA with an Associates of Arts degree with honors.
In addition to golf Gowan also excelled in soccer at an early age as well as cross country. He is also a Black Belt in Taekwondo.
Before coming to Charleston, Gowan is set to compete in the English Amateur at the end of July in Woburn, England.
