The Cougars saw their average fans per game at Patriots Point rise to 1,017 this season to become one of just 26 schools in the country to average over 1,000 fans. The Cougars averaged 316 more fans per game than they did in 2010.

This season, the Cougars implemented the Lundy's Loonies, a student section set up behind the endline at the north end of the field. The Athletic Department also added bleachers and a standing section along the west side of the field to handle the growing crowds the team is attracting.

The 2011 home stand started out in style as CofC played host to No. 15 South Carolina and upended their cross-state rivals, 3-2, in front of a record-breaking crowd of 2,931 fans. The crowd was the biggest-ever for a soccer game at Patriots Point.

From there, the Cougars hosted three more teams which had qualified for the NCAA Tournament the year before. The fans also packed the house with over 1,000 fans when the Cougars met with No. 26 Princeton as well as perennial-powerhouse Wake Forest.

At the end of the 2010 season, the men's soccer team became the first CofC program to host an NCAA Tournament event when the Cougars received an at-large bid to the dance and hosted East Tennessee State University in the opening round. On a chili November night, 1,216 fans showed up to watch CofC advance in the tournament after an exciting 3-2 win, thus setting the stage for the Cougars to be a team to be seen in 2011.

UC Santa Barbara led the nation in average attendance per game at 4,782 fans, while Maryland was ranked No. 2 with 3,781 fans per game.

The Cougars' 2012 schedule, which will be released later in the spring, promises to excite fans and provide opportunities to further Patriots Point's Patriots reputation as an imposing environment for visiting teams as well as a first-class venue to enjoy the Cougars' high-quality level of soccer.
