2011: Competed in five cross country meets for the Cougars during the 2011 season...Won her first race of season, the Citadel Invitational...Set school record for 5K at SoCon Championship with third-place finish in 17:05...Named to SoCon First Team All-Conference...Set school record for 6K at NCAA Southeast Regional, where she finished 11th in 20:40.

2010: Cross Country- Won Citadel Invitational (9/25) with a time of 18:19.77...12th place finish at the Charlotte Invitational (10/1) with a time of 17:53.1 which is the fourth fastest in school history for 5k...Set school record for 6k at NCAA Southeast Regional in 21:46.3 for 6k...Named Southern Conference Freshman of the Year and earned spots on First Team All-Conference and All-Freshman Teams...Finished 5th at the SoCon Championships meet in Boone, NC...Bettered her high school 5k mark by over a minute in her first collegiate race.

Pelham: Received all-state status for the past two seasons...Attended the Florida State Winter Distance Project in 2009...Had the opportunity to work with Trent Sanderson of Team Prep USA.

Personal: Dena is the daughter of Tim and Julie O'Brien. She has commited time to working for the Ronald McDonald House and the Safe House. In addition to running she enjoys biking and swimming.
