CHARLESTON, S.C. - The No. 61-ranked College of Charleston women's tennis team will look to continue on its impressive 13-match win streak with a two-match Southern Conference road swing through the state of North Carolina this weekend.
The Cougars (17-4, 6-0 SoCon), who moved down a spot in the latest Campbell/ITA Collegiate Tennis Team Rankings on April 3, will square off first against Elon (14-6, 5-3) on Friday, April 6 at 2:30 p.m. (ET) at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center in Elon, N.C.
CofC will have its hands full as the team looks to remain unbeaten in league play against an Elon squad which is coming off a 7-0 shutout of Wofford on April 2.
After Friday's match, the Cougars will have a quick turnaround, traveling to UNCG (13-4, 7-0 SoCon) for a Saturday, April 7 dual match at noon (ET) in Greensboro, N.C. The Spartans are the only other team, besides CofC, who remain unbeaten in conference action.
"We are excited to get back on the road this weekend," CofC Director of Tennis Angelo Anastopoulo said. "The team is easy to travel with and we had a great spring break trip. We have two, really tough opponents in Elon and UNCG and are looking forward to the matches. We will have to be at our best and hopefully, we will have some of our players, who have been out with some injuries, back in the lineup."
