CHARLESTON, S.C. - Senior women's golfer Vanessa Koechli (Greer, S.C.) earned College of Charleston Student-Athlete of the Week honors sponsored by Piggly Wiggly for the week of Sept. 10.
A communications major, Koechli shot a career-best round of 69 in her second round of the Cougar Classic women's golf tournament at Yeamans Hall Club and finished 48th in a field of 124 golfers this past week. Koechli shot rounds of 76-69-77=222 (+6) for the tournament. Koechli continued her momentum from an excellent summer of golf, including advancing to the semifinals of the Women's Trans National Championship, competed against the top amateur golfers in the world.
