CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston head coach Jason Kepner has announced the 2011 spring schedule for the CofC volleyball team.
The Cougars are coming off a 2010 season in which they finished 29-6 overall and captured their 10th consecutive Southern Conference Championship, winning the regular season with a 15-1 record in conference play. The Cougars earned runner-up honors at the Southern Conference Volleyball Championship tournament.
"We are very excited to have our athletes back in the gym and working towards a successful 2011 season," Kepner said." "So far they are putting in a lot of hard work and we have set up a competitive spring schedule to make them grow and progress as a team."
The spring season kicks off with a home event Feb. 27 against The Citadel and Charleston Southern. The following month the Cougars travel to UNC Wilmington Mar. 26 as they battle UNCW, Campbell and Coastal Carolina.
On Apr. 2 the Cougars depart for Atlanta, Ga. for a tournament hosted by Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets finished sixth in the Atlantic Coast Conference this past season.
The Cougars close out the spring season with their annual sand tournament as they make the journey to Myrtle Beach Apr. 17 for a tournament hosted by Coastal Carolina. Other teams competing will be Winthrop, The Citadel and Wofford.
