The Cougars volunteered as clinic instructors for young girls at the Windjammer on Isle of Palms, teaming with Walsh and Jennings to teach the fundamentals of volleyball.
The day-long clinic featured drill instruction in the morning followed by team competition in the afternoon.
"My husband and I have been so blessed to play this sport as a career for so many years now, and we love giving back," Walsh said. "We were so lucky to have the College of Charleston girls out here helping us out. There are a lot of young girls here looking for inspiration and who want to take it to the next level. Seeing the College girls out here working hard and getting sandy was really special. It was special for me, special for the girls and I hope it was special for the College of Charleston."
College of Charleston is one of just a handful NCAA Division I schools that will sponsor sand volleyball as a varsity sport in the first-ever NCAA sanctioned season. The Cougars will begin competition in the spring of 2011 at the Creekside Tennis & Swim Club in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
