SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Senior middle blocker Elyse Chubb earned SoCon Offensive Player of the Week honors for the last week of the regular season, the conference office announced on Monday.

A native of Peachtree City, Ga., Chubb is coming off a fantastic offensive week where she led the team in kills in sweeps of The Citadel and UNC-Greensboro. She hit .710 for the week and made only one error as she tallied 12 kills against The Citadel and 11 against the Spartans.

Chubb finished the regular season with 331 kills and a hitting percentage of .318, a mark that ranks ninth in the conference. She is just six kills away from moving into 10th all-time in career kills in program history. Chubb is just one of two players in program history to have over 1,100 career kills, 400 career blocks and hit over .300.

The two wins in the season's last week secured the Cougars' SoCon South Division title, and also gave Charleston the league's best conference record of 14-2 after Samford lost on Sunday.

The Cougars will face Elon in the first round of the conference tournament on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 1:30 p.m. ET. The tournament will take place in Samford's Pete Hanna Center.
