CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston will play host to the 2012 Charleston Classic presented by Foster Grant on Nov. 15, 16 & 18, at TD Arena.

The CofC men's basketball team will be one of eight teams competing in the tournament field which includes 2012 NCAA Tournament participants Baylor (Big 12), Colorado (Pac-12) and Murray State (OVC) as well as Auburn (SEC), Boston College (ACC), Dayton (A-10) and St. John's (BIG EAST). The Cougars last participated in the tournament in 2008.

"The Charleston Classic is a first-class event held in a terrific location," CofC Head Coach Doug Wojcik said. "Having been a visitor here last year (as the head coach of the University of Tulsa), the weather, the hotels, the hospitality and the arena are second-to-none. It will be a wonderful opportunity for us to participate against a really tough field in front of our own home crowd at TD Arena."

Auburn and Murray State complete the tournament field which was originally announced with seven teams, with the loss of Southern Illinois. Murray State and Colorado both advanced to the NCAA third round, while Baylor reached the Elite Eight. Dayton earned a berth in the Postseason NIT.
