College of Charleston Cougars (19-9, 13-6)

The College of Charleston enters Monday's game having suffered a setback in its bid for seeding for the 2010 Southern Conference Tournament as Davidson held on for a 72-69 victory on Saturday, February 20.

After trailing by as many as 19 at one point, the Cougars found themselves down 58-45 with 9:21 to play in the game. CofC continued to narrow the margin, eventually pulling to within 65-64 at the 2:02 mark.

From there, the two teams would trade baskets before settling at a 70-67 Davidson lead with only seconds to play. Senior forward Brooke Kotcella (Anderson, S.C.) knocked down two free throws to make it 70-69 but the Wildcats Alex Thompson matched that effort at the other end of the floor to push the lead back to three and a defensive stop on a last second three-pointer sealed the 72-69 victory for Davidson.
