CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston Women's Basketball team has been working hard this spring. Here is a post about their workouts from Alexis "Nunney" Hicks
Post season workouts? Let me sum it up... "Easier said than done!" The workouts are not easy at all. It takes hard work and determination to get through them. While the team works out we try to keep each other going by saying uplifting words. We encourage each other to keep going by giving high fives, pats on the back and talking through the exercise.
On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we are in the weight room maxing out the best of our ability. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we run a mile in our fastest times. The most challenging part of our workouts is beating our fastest running times from the previous week. Each week we have to get better.
Postseason is beneficial to me because it keeps me in the basketball mindset even after our playing season is over. It makes me want to do better. Postseason is important because I know if I'm not working out, my competitors are! I need postseason to build muscle, to get mentally strong, to
practice on what I was weak in during the season, and to gain respect for the game.
