Women’s Basketball to Play Detroit in Round Two of WBI

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women’s basketball teams’ next game is set as they travel to Detroit to play the Detroit Titans on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Detroit, the No. 1 seed in the east region knocked off No. 8 seed Belmont 71-68 Thursday night.

The Cougars (16-15), the No. 5 seed in the tournament, advanced to the second round by beating the No. 4 Northern Kentucky 72-70 on Wednesday night.

The Titans, members of the Horizon League are 18-13 on the season and are led in scoring by post player Shareta Brown, who is averaging 20 points per game.

The Cougars are 3-1 all-time in the Women’s Basketball Invitational and last played in the tournament in the 2009-10 season, where they advanced to the final four.
