CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's soccer team will be holding a silent auction during CofC's baseball game against South Carolina at Patriots Point on Wednesday, April 4. The auction is to raise money for a community outreach trip to Trinidad and Tobago.
The team will be set up at the entrance to the facility along the sidewalk between the softball and soccer fields. They are auctioning off over 50 items like a two-night package at Banner elk Winery and Villa, white-water rafting trips for four with lodging included, free CofC camp registrations, local restaurant gift cards and more.
The team's 10-day trip to Trinidad and Tobago in May, 2012 will be an eye-opening and chance-of-a-lifetime opportunity for the women's soccer players. The student-athletes will play world-class matches against the Trinidad and Tobago Women's National Team and U20 Youth National Team as well as the Guyana Women's National Team.
While these games are valuable and exciting, he team's experience will not be limited to soccer. The players will build homes with Habitat for Humanity and go to communities to run soccer clinics and teach kids valuable lessons.
