CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston softball team has begun selling ‘Restore the Shore’ support bracelets to raise money to donate to victims of Hurricane Sandy. The Cougars have teamed with the Red Cross in an effort spearheaded by Katie O’Brien, Alex Pizzoli and Valerie Cassell, all CofC softball players and New Jersey residents whose families were affected by Sandy’s devastation.

The bracelets are available for $5 each and 100 percent of the proceeds are being donated to Sandy victims via the Red Cross.

To purchase a bracelet, contact any current CofC softball player or head coach Shelly Hoerner who can be reached at HoernerS@cofc.edu.

The softball team also runs a concession stand at all CofC men’s basketball games and will be selling the bracelets there as well when the Cougars take on Louisville on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at TD Arena. The softball team’s stand is the first on the right after coming up the stairs from the box office.
