Swimming and Diving Teams Swept by Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The College of Charleston swimming diving teams fell to bitter conference-rival Davidson on Saturday afternoon. The women fell by a 213-84 mark while the men fell, 180-111.

Women's Highlights
Grace Herlong took second place in the 1000-yard freestyle with a 10:55.68 mark. Herlong finished second in the 200-yard butterfly as well (2:12.35).

Sarah Boyle bested the 100-yard backstroke at 59:91 and Raquel Rudolph finished behind her in third (1:04.01). Boyle took second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.10).

Erin Steffen was the second finisher in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:32.70.

April Coyne took second in the 200-yard IM with a 2:16.21 mark.

Men's Highlights
Matt Sherrier won the 200-yard freestyle event with a 1:42.91time and his brother, David Sherrier, finished in third at 1:43.94. Matt Sherrier won the 100-yard (47.97) and 500-yard (4:47.39) freestyles as well.

Jackson Marine posted the second-best time in the 100-yard backstroke (54.68).

Brantley Reynolds was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.45).

Two-time defending CCSA Diver of the Week Peter Gibbons posted the best mark in the three-meter diving event (235.72) and the one-meter diving event (271.35) yet again.

Coming Up
The Cougars will travel to Harrisonburg, Va., where they will swim Virginia schools Old Dominion, William and Mary and James Madison as well as Northeastern.
