Peter Gibbons Garners Third Consecutive Diver of the Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - College of Charleston's Peter Gibbons was selected as the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Men's Diver of the Week for meets completed October 25-31, the League announced. Davidson's Geoffrey Peitz was named the CCSA Swimmer of the Week.

Gibbons, a sophomore from Fairfax, Va., has won the award all three weeks CofC has been in competition this season. This week, he took the honors by winning both diving events in the Cougars' dual meet against Davidson. Gibbons scored a 271.35 in the one-meter diving event and a 235.72 in the three-meter event.

Peitz won three individual titles with CCSA season top times to help the Wildcats overcome rival College of Charleston 180-111.  Peitz won both backstroke events, clocking 52.02 in the 100 back and 1:56.44 in the 200 back.  Peitz also swam the 11th fastest time in CCSA history with a time of 50.37.

The Cougars will travel to Harrisonburg, Va., where they will swim Virginia schools Old Dominion, William and Mary and James Madison as well as Northeastern on Friday, Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6.
