CHARLESTON, S.C. - Junior Alyssa D'Orazio the recipient of this year's Family Circle Cup $5,000 scholarship got the opportunity to participate in the Wednesday night festivities as she performed the coin flip prior to a doubles match between Charleston native Shelby Rogers/Patty Schnyder vs. Alla Kudryavtseva/Anastasia Rodionova.

D'Orazio received the scholarship, given to a female student-athlete from the College of Charleston that excels both on and off the playing field. As a reward she had the opportunity to come to the Family Circle Cup with her parents, track & field coach Amy Seago, Associate AD Laura Lageman and guest and teammate Callen Powers.

After arriving on Daniel Island at the stadium D'Orazio toured the grounds, visited the media tent, ate dinner and went over last minute preparations for the coin toss.

At about 7:00 PM she performed the coin toss on center court and then relaxed and enjoyed a thrilling tennis match.
