CLEMSON, S.C. - Freshman Dena O'Brien improved on her school record in the 1,500-meter run as she took first-place Friday at the Clemson Tiger Qualifier.
O'Brien ran 4:27.60 for the race and finished about five seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Also competing for the Cougars was junior Kristen Wolfe, who ran 11:07.23 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Junior Emily Smith will compete in the high jump tomorrow.
