Cougar Sailors Win Emily Wick/Sloop Shrew Intersectional

The College of Charleston sailing team finished in the top five in 16 of 26 races, winning six of them, to claim the Emily Wick/Sloop Shrew intersectional held April 17-18 in New London, Conn.  The Cougars posted 126 points, 21 ahead of second-place Dartmouth.

In the A-Division, Allison Blecher (Fllerton, Calif.) and Alyssa Aitken (Sandwich, Mass.) led the Cougars to third with 76 points, while Shannon Heausler (Tampa, Fla.) and Rebecca Bestoso (Erie, Pa.) led the B-Division to first with 50 points.

Charleston is next in action April 24-25, when it travels to Kings Point, N.Y. for the Admiral's Cup and New London, Conn., for the Thompson Trophy.  The Cougars also host the SAISA Women's Championship in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
