Cougar Sailors Second at SAISA/MAISA

The College of Charleston sailing team took third in the A-Division and first in the B-Division to finish second out of 12 teams at the SAISA?MAISA Regatta held Mar. 28-29 in Hampton, Va.  Charleston totaled 61 points, just 13 behind first-place South Florida.

 

Alex Bertrand and Sara Burks sailed the A-Division to third place with 43 points.  The duo placed in the top four in seven of 10 races, winning three.

 

With 18 points, the team of Cole Allsop and Coreyanna Moore took first in the B-Division by three points over South Florida.  They placed second in three races and won five of the 10 on the afternoon.

 

Charleston is next in action April 4-5 when the team travels to Stanford for the St. Francis Intersectional and to Providence, R.I., for the Dellenbaugh Women’s Intersectional.  The Cougars also head to New London, Conn., for the New England Team Race.
