The College of Charleston sailing team placed fifth in the A-Division and eighth in the B-Division to finish seventh at the Thompson Trophy Regatta held this pas weekend at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn.  The Cougars posted 304 points, just 14 points out of the top five.  Boston College won the event with a two-day total of 207.

 

Charleston’s Zeke Horawitz and Perry Emsiek finished in the top 10 in 14 of 18 races in the A-Division to finish fifth with 138 points.

 

Bryan Rigby and Becky Bestoso sailed in the B-Division and finished eighth after placing in the top 10 in 10 of the 18 races.  The duo finished with 166 points.

 

The Cougars have finished the regular season and begin postseason play with the ICSA National Semifinals to be held May 2-3 at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Center in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
