CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston equestrian team is set to host its annual Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Fall Horse Show at Storybook Farm on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 9 a.m. The annual show is now in its 27th year of operation.
The Cougars will look to ride the momentum of a pair of strong performances in their last two outings. The Cougars grabbed second place at the Savannah College of Art and Design show on Sat, Oct. 29 and then took home the highest honors at the Georgia Southern show the following day.
With the latest results, the Cougars sit in third place in the IHSA Zone 5 Region 3 standings. The Cougars pulled within five points of second-place Georgia Southern which has 133 points. SCAD sits atop the regional standings with 163.
"We should definitely move up in the standings this weekend," said head coach Bob Story. "Traditionally we do very well at home and I don't expect tomorrow to be any different. It can be difficult at home because you have to ensure your horses are cared for in addition to your riding. We've been riding very well recently though and I expect a good outcome."
There will be 13 teams from the region represented at Saturday's show.
Admission to the show is free to the public. To get to Storybook Farm, head south on Route 17 until the intersection of Main Road. Turn right onto Main Road and travel a short distance before coming to a stop sign. Take a left-hand turn and the farm will be visible on the right side.
Saturday's show will be the last of the calendar year for the Cougars who take a long break before returning to competition at the University of Miami on Saturday, Feb. 4.
