Monroe led the CofC men's basketball team to an undefeated 2-0 start to Southern Conference play with a pair of home victories over South Division rivals Davidson (82-73) on Dec. 2 and Georgia Southern (92-84) on Dec. 4. He registered a career-and game-high 30 points and his 1,000th career point versus GSU. Monroe also went a career-best 11-of-12 from the free throw line and became only the 27th all-time player to gain entrance into the 1,000-Point Club with 1,040 career points to date. Monroe ranks 15th all-time in the program's Division I history as well as 11th all-time in career three-pointers made (103). He averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game against the Wildcats and Eagles combined.
Threlfall was the CofC equestrian team's lone entry in The Tournament of Champions Medal Class which saw 20 of the top riders in the nation compete on Dec. 6 in Laurinburg, N.C. She came in second after the flat phase of the class, and, after a near perfect jumping round, moved into first with only the test of the top four remaining riders at the show. Threlfall laid down a near flawless jumping round to win the TOC Medal Class. Overall, the Cougars placed ninth among the 20-team field.
