CHARLESTON, S.C. - Eight members of the College of Charleston Equestrian team have been recognized for their academic achievements by being honored with Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) All-Academic Awards.

College of Charleston Head Coach Bob Story said he is very proud of his student-athletes.

"The young ladies named to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association's National First Team (3.8 GPA) and National Second Team (3.5 GPA) exemplify the Athletic Department's mandate that our athletes are students first," he said. "These riders have demonstrated that not only are they successfully competitive in the sports arena they are even more successful in the College of Charleston's extremely rigorous academic arena. This is a testament to their ability to balance their studies with their athletic endeavors. Each of these riders is the type of student ambassador that always portray the College of Charleston in a positive light to the outside community in both athletics and academics."
