HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The College of Charleston equestrian team finished in second place at the Savannah College of Art and Design Fall Fest at the Roland C. Waranch Equestrian Center over the weekend. The Cougars claimed four individual class winners.
CofC's riders were highlighted by best-in-class performances by Eliza Hay in Open Flat (section B), Danielle Huntsman in Intermediate Flat (section B), Olivia CoCo in Novice Flat (section B) and Lizzy Swartz in the Advanced Walk Trot Canter (section C).
With the strong showing, CofC moves into third place in the regional point standings of Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Zone 5 Region 3.The Cougars' 18-member region is the largest in the IHSA.
Host institution SCAD won its second show of the season and remains ahead of the standings followed by Georgia Southern and then CofC.
The Cougars have a shot to gain ground on both programs next weekend as CofC returns to SCAD for a show on Saturday, Oct. 29 followed immediately by Georgia Southern's show on Sunday, Oct. 30.
