Michael Harrington had a school record eight RBI as the College of Charleston rallied for a 20-16 win over Texas-San Antonio, to earn a split in its double header Saturday at Patriots Point. The Roadrunners outslugged Charleston in the opener, 20-12. The Cougars and the Roadrunners will both enter tomorrow’s rubber match at Patriots Point with 9-3 records. The first pitch is at 12 pm. In game two, Harrington’s grand slam in the bottom of the second helped Charleston grab a 7-2 lead. Later, Harrington added a three-run shot in the bottom of the sixth to give the Cougars a 12-10 lead. Curtis Dowling (2-0) picked up his second victory of the season in relief, and Jesse Simpson recorded his second save of the year. In the first game, the Roadrunners were led by James Keithley’s five hits and five RBI, including a grand slam. Steven Vasquez recorded the victory for Texas-San Antonio, and improved to 2-1 on the season. |
