CHARLESTON, S.C. - Sophomore right-hander Kelly Kambourelis (Melbourne, Fla.) was named College of Charleston Student-Athlete of the Week sponsored by Piggly Wiggly for the week of Feb. 13.

Kambourelis clinched the fourth and deciding point as the CofC women's tennis team defeated North Florida, 6-1, on Feb. 12 at the CofC Tennis Center in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Kambourelis went 2-0 for the match with a 7-6 (5), 6-1 decision over No. 123-ranked Lorena Aviles, who is a transfer from Texas Tech and won the singles title at CofC's Fall Invitational, at No. 2 singles. It marked the team's second individual win over a nationally-ranked opponent this season next to Caroline Newman's straight-set upset of No. 58-ranked Klara Vyskocilova of Clemson on Jan. 22. She also combined with freshman teammate Jenny Falcone for an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles to help the Cougars win the important doubles point over the Atlantic Sun Conference favorite Ospreys. Kambourelis is currently 2-2 on the season in both singles and doubles and is on a two-match win streak.
