NEW ORLEANS - The College of Charleston men's and women's cross country teams each earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic status, the USTFCCCA announced today.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.

"I'm very proud of these kids," Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services Keith Merritt said. "Both teams prove that at the College of Charleston we develop quality student-athletes. That's outstanding."

Next up for the College of Charleston Track & Field team, they travel to Birmingham, Ala. Feb. 23-24 to compete in the Southern Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.
