DURHAM, N.C. - Senior Alyssa D'Orazio broke her own school record in the 800-meter run as the College of Charleston women's track & field team wrapped up a good weekend of competition at the Duke Invitational Saturday. The Cougars had five top-five performances including D'Orazio's school record.

D'Orazio ran most the race with teammate freshman Hayley McMahon at her side, and put on a late charge and finished 5th in 2:11.23. McMahon ran a solid race and finished 11th in 2:14.62, the fourth best time in school history.

Senior Kristen Wolfe came back from running the 400-meter hurdles yesterday to finish second-place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:52.47, the second fastest time in school history.

Fellow Senior Emily Smith cleared 1.73 meters (5-08.00 feet) to finish third in the competition. Her mark is the fourth best in school history.

The Cougars 4X100-meter relay team ran well as they finished in fourth-place. The team of Laura Call, Christa Horrocks, Lorna Doucette and Dyshia Parks ran 49.42, the eighth best time in school history.

In the Cougars last event of the day, the 4X400-meter relay, the team of Horrocks, Wolfe, D'Orazio and McMahon finished fifth in 3:57.07, the fourth best time in school history.

Up next the Cougars travel to Cullowhee, N.C. April 21-22 for the Southern Conference Championship.
