CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's tennis team continued its dominance through its Southern Conference regular-season slate by taking down The Citadel, 6-1, in a crosstown rivalry match held on Tuesday afternoon at the Earle Tennis Center.

The Cougars (14-3, 8-0 SoCon) have now won seven in a row with two remaining matches left to play to secure a No. 1 seed in the upcoming 2012 SoCon Tennis Championships to be held on April 19-22 at both school's home facilities in Charleston and Mt. Pleasant.

The Bulldogs (5-16, 0-9 SoCon) didn't go down without a fight. Two of the three doubles matches went into an extra game as senior Mickael Trintignac (Le Cannet, France) and junior Kyle Parker (Richmond, Va.) won their sixth consecutive match, 9-8, at the No. 1 line. The duo defeated The Citadel's top tandem of David Orces and James Atkinson, while sophomore Crescente Lesser (Santiago, Chile) and freshman Alon Faiman (Ramat Hasharon, Israel) won 9-7 over Elliott Sperr and Alex Howle at No. 3 to give the Cougars the early 1-0 lead in the match.

In singles action, senior Tom Delme (Hamoir, Belgium), Parker, Lesser and Faiman claimed straight-victories to contribute to the final team score as did sophomore Brice Allanic (Colombes, France) with a third-set super tiebreaker victory over Sperr, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (6), at No. 6. Lesser and Faiman remain unbeaten at their positions against league competition with impressive 8-0 league marks.

CofC will close out the regular season with a two-match SoCon road swing at Appalachian State on Friday, April 13 at 2:30 p.m. (ET) in Boone, N.C., and at Davidson on Sunday, April 15 at 1 p.m. (ET) in Davidson, N.C.
