SPARTANBURG, S.C. - College of Charleston freshman pitcher Hope Klicker was named the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week for all games April 10-15 as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Klicker (Walla Walla, Wash.) started her week by throwing her first career perfect game against South Carolina State on Tuesday. She put a career-high 16 hitters down on strikes and only required five outs from her defense.
She was tagged with a loss in the second game of a three-game set against conference leading Georgia Southern on Saturday. The lefty pitched well in the losing effort by striking out nine and limiting the Eagles to two earned runs.
On the week, Klicker maintained a 1.05 ERA and 1-1 record in the circle in 13.1 innings pitched. She had 25 total strikeouts on the week against just five hits and one walk.
